2003      Shine on. The Future Looks Bright:

Why mince words about it. The past few years have been an uphill climb for the IT services and staffing industry. Y2K came and went and then the dot.com craze drifted away like so much tumbleweed. Just as things started to look brighter, VMS struck followed by the recent explosion of offshore outsourcing.

Many Staffing and Service firms couldn’t withstand the barrage. Many more survived. Only a stout few, however, managed to take this economic lemon and make sweet, sweet lemonade.

We have also learned that the qualities that make a company successful in the boom times are at the same qualities that protect a company when the chips are down. And there is nothing particularly complicated about these values: customer service, exemplary communication skills, high standards, and trustworthiness, to name a few. In short, they are the core values necessary for any business, in any industry, to attain success.

Entrants submitted tax forms for the prior three years, with a statement about the company. The information was validated and ranked by accounting firm Johanna Higham, P.C. To obtain the growth rate, we subtracted the first year revenues from the latest year revenues and divided the first year revenues by the difference. We’re impressed with the numbers, but even more so with the words from the leaders of those companies–words such as relationships, service, and loyalty.
